Reinstalling Drylay Magnetic Timber Floor - RLB

In 2021, RLB moved into a new office, an office they knew would be temporary.   They researched investments they could make into products that could serve them at both offices.   They wanted to use as many de-mountable and movable products as possible. The flooring, the reception desk, the furniture, was in the plan to all be moved.

The TierGlobal dry lay system satisfied their needs because the magnetic backed product is not permanently adhered to the floor, it can be installed by a carpet tile fitter rather than a specialist wood installer, and critically it can be picked up and moved.

A British invention, each Tierglobal magnetic board has 1000 pounds of pull strength and it can be lifted with suction cups.  To the eye it looks just like a regular wood floor but the benefit of the product is the accessibility it provides the end user.  If the floor suffers unexpected damage, 1 board can be lifted up and replaced.   While no magnetic installation will be as strong as a fully bonded floor, it is an innovation that will support a client who wants circulatory in their product, access, and options in case their office space needs are in flux.   It will also save them money if the space is returned back to CAT A space because there will be no adhesive or mess to clean up.

Quote from RLB

Totzke delivered exactly what they promised, a high level product which can go on to be reused. The reinstallation was faultless and the topping up of timber to fit our new floor plate was also without fault. We would highly recommend Totzke Ltd and the magnetic timber product from TierGlobal.

Fast forward to 2023, RLB just moved into their new office in the Shard.   Tierglobal was able to take a piece of their original wood as a control for colour match, manufacture an additional 100m2 for a slightly larger area, and both products were able to be installed side by side.    Maintenance will be performed on the original product after the move and then the office is ready to go!   If down the line, colour trends in wood change, the product can always be sanded and re-stained.

Circular design is a current buzz word in sustainability, and RLB accomplished this by practicing re-use.  It was our first removal and re-install and we are so pleased they are happy.
